"Before we arrived in Lapland I had three images in my mind of how I imagined the film was going to look. The ice palace from the first Superman movie, Narnia and something resembling the Scott and Amundson race to the south pole. I think there is a little of each in the final film, but the area is so dramatic that all we had to do was point a camera at the landscape and the scenery did the rest.

The cold only presented one small problem which involved the lens steaming up when we went inside to film the kitchens, I remember the camera man holding it over the stove to try and warm it up while we paced up and down impatiently.

In editing it was important to retain the spirit of the place, the quiet beauty, the vast emptiness and the particular appeal that the arctic circle, with all it’s sparkling prettiness, holds for visitors."
Director Oliver Caporn

Artist microsites

We understand the business model and know that at the beginning, an artist website might be just a toe in the water, needing every bit of imagination and presentational skill to give that new face a serious chance before any of the big guns have been persuaded to invest big time and money.

We make small even small artist sites engage the audience properly. We've used to creating successes out of unknowns. It is rocket science.

VisualDNA Shops launch

A big new product launch for Imagini. VisualDNA Shops are community-powered shopping widgets for bloggers and small web publishers. Lastminute.com GiftFinder

Powered by VisualDNA, the same concept and groundbreaking relevance technology as the Hotels.com Visualiser, Pepsi Football social network and all the other successes of the amazing Imagini startup, the Lastminute.com Giftfnder proved that we could create the same powerful user experience and compelling results in tiny formats.

By clicking images, the user can rapidly describe and their needs in a vastly richer way than is possible with standard text based search methods, and is then offered search results with a degree of relevance that makes current search technlogies seem one-dimensional and obsolete.

As designers, our challenge is to make this compelling, entertaining and yet simple and usable. We love working on projects like this where new design thinking is the only way to a solution.

Metrics show increased interaction rates, very high time-on-site and excellent brand awareness, and after the success of the Christmas campaign, Lastminute have added a spring campaign.

Hotels.com Visualiser

We've been involved with Imagini and VisualDNA from the beginning - creating the concepts and interactive experiences ideas that have so for captured over 15 million VisualDNA profiles.

The Hotels.com Visualiser service was created as a high profile proof of the real commercial power of VisualDNA technology, and has been universally received as a game-changing way to interact with online trip planning and booking services.

We designed the simple, un-geeky web interface and iPhone app, which allows the user to express what really matters to them and create searches using human parameters such as style, mood, and personal values. The apparent simplicity masks the remarkable technical and conceptual innovations, and the quality if the results make standard search seem stale, one-dimensional and lacking in relevance.

User tracking and analytics shows that the technology delivers much better results for the users: measured by increased average transactional value and increased time on site.

"Visually based booking illustrates the humanized digital travel experience. The Hotels.com Visualiser is functional, relevant and reliable... It's also emotionally engaging... The extensive amount of choice and control offered through the search and booking process creates a highly empowered consumer."
Forrester Research

"The speed and functionality of VisualDNA™ coupled with the vast array of hotel accommodation on Hotels.com means that we are able to make the user experience faster and more efficient than ever before."
